Headcover Drill

If you've followed golf much, you've no doubt seen Vijay Singh tuck a golf glove under his left arm and hit golf balls while making full swings. For golfers who are very dependent on their arms for power in the golf swing, they find it extremely difficult to work with this drill, but it is a very useful drill to help ingrain rotation through the shot. Vijay uses this drill to help him make a full turn in the backswing and it is very useful for that. When teaching the one plane swing, I most often use this drill to teach the golfer how to feel the body hit through the shot rather than just hitting at it with the arms. It is also useful to help keep a golfer from lifting his or her arms high above his head during the backswing which is unnecessary in a one plane swing.
