It’s been a while

It’s been a right good while since I’ve posted to the blog so I’d thought I’d do a little update.

First, the switch over to Rotary Swing Tour was more difficult than I thought it would be. However, the primary reason for that is because I don’t like “drilling” and learning this swing is based on drilling a lot. I have gotten over this dislike and have made considerable progress over the past few months. Al Consoli has been a big help here as has Chuck’s newer “RST Program” videos on set up, weight, shift, and rotation.

Second, a long while back I had mentioned that my wife was taking up the game and we had been chipping and putting some together in the afternoons. She started studying for the CPA exam and stopped for a time but now has started expressing an interest in getting back out there. What will be really interesting is goin to be to take her through the RST program without having to “unlearn” anything since she has hit full shots only once in her life. I am predicting that by teaching her “by the book” from the outset that she will become an “accomplished” golfer rather quickly.

Finally, if the weather ever breaks here I’ll be back out on the course in the afternoons chipping , putting and playing a few holes here and there.  I have been doing drills for 30 minutes practically every afternooon since August. It’ll be interesting to see some new video of my swing to see how things are actually progressing.

Until next time,

Greg

I’ll be very interested to hear how it goes with your wife. My fiancee took up the game 2 years ago but has only played about 20 times. It’s crazy how big of a change she can immediately make whenever I give her a little advice. For instance, if I tell her to add 4 inches of shoulder elevation, she does it on the next swing. If I were to try it and improve by just 1 inch, I’d be thrilled!

If only RST had been available when I was starting out…
