Greg’s Golf…..

There was no way that I could just sit on the sidelines and not say anything.

I am Greg Lee and I am a hopeless golf fanatic.  I have basically structured my life so that  I get to play practically everyday.  I teach severely behaviorally and emotionally disabled kids for a living and need something to let off steam in the afternoons.  Golf is the perfect way to do this.  There is nothing better than stripping a drive right down the middle in the 270 range right after naming the ball after one of the more “challenging” kids you teach.  I even tell my kids that I do it and they will reply “I bet you hit me a long way don’t you, Mr. Lee”.  Anyhow, I have a very challenging job at times and I have found golf to be an equally challenging diversion.

You see, I play to see just how low I can score.  Sure, relaxing is nice and I do that.  Having fun with friends is nice and I do that too.  Hitting a great looking 7 iron with a baby draw is nice and I can even do that (well sometimes anyways).  However, I totally get off on seeing the ball fall in the hole.  I really could not care less how that happens either.  I am not afraid to score ugly and in fact, I kind of relish that my friend Bob played with me one day and said “Man, that was the ugliest 79 I have ever seen.”   Golf to me is a game where low score wins and I want to shoot the lowest score.   I want to see just how low I can go.  So, far I have shot par on 3 different occasions twice on a par 72 and once on a par 71.  I am currently have a 4.7 USGA handicap so I am not a great golfer by any stretch but, I am getting better all the time even when I don’t think that I am.

Golf is a learning experience that’s for sure.

Don’t sell yourself short Greg 4.7 is the handicap of a great golfer considering 95% of avg golgers carry around a 20. I am an 8.8 and I think I am a great golfer :-) I was just telling Bob that I have a couple of State tournaments line up for next year and I totally expect to have my handi down under 6 and compete. Can’t wait to read more about your game and I also want to go on record commending you on what you do for a living it takes a special person to be able to teach children especially those with special needs!

4.7 and not great… LOL. I’ve barely come ‘that side’ of 20… and know I’m far from great. I realise 4.7 won’t get you on tour, but I’d trade you golf games any day of the week (that I’m playing)!
